Protecting the game’s legacy by supporting the next generation of players

The Frankston Bridge Club is small – just 81 members that play once a week. The club proudly punches well above their weight when it comes to working together and supporting Youth Bridge.

The club recently held a fundraiser to support young-gun Heath Watkins - who is travelling to China in August to play in the World Youth Transnational Championships.

The event, held at Frankston Mazda, attracted 20 tables from Mornington & Mt Eliza clubs and members gave generously on the day via registration fees, raffle tickets and donations to support young players like Heath. Martin Wilcox donated his time to direct.

The club raised $1,415 – an outstanding amount and testament to how, when people are encouraged to support others, club members are keen to assist.

“We are all passionate bridge players and it’s our responsibly to work together to keep the ultimate mind sport accessible to generations after us.

As bridge players, we all support communities and foster relationships across all sectors, let’s use that goodwill to do more and keep this fantastic game available for generations to come.”
